Lawberry Camp Midwinter will be a full day of activities…including lightning talks, open round table discussions and ending with the exciting and fun Battledecks Powerpoint Karaoke competition.

Have you tried an interesting project in your library and want to give a 5 minute talk about it? Is there some pressing issue that you’d like to hash out and discuss? Public services, technical services, private, court or academic…whatever your job title is and no matter where you work, if you are interested in law libraries or legal information, you should come to Lawberry Camp!

Overview

Library and information technology leaders share increasingly common concerns about how they manage information resources and provide computing and network services to campus stakeholders. Across the industry, library and IT organizations are developing new forms of collaboration and integrated services.

While there are numerous models of improved library-IT collaboration, the consumers of library and IT services do not care about the shape of the organization(s); rather, they want whenever-wherever access to services, collections, and reference resources. Before embarking on any collaborative efforts, however, leaders in both organizations must first look at their overall institutional alignment and effectiveness.

This program will help you:

• Understand the diverse missions and cultures of the library and the IT organizations
• Consider the campus approach to library and IT services and how they impact the institution
• Assess the relative health of these critical organizations
• Gauge the impact of staffing and resource levels on organizational success
• Build a culture of ongoing change and improvement
• Decide whether and under what circumstances to consider a library-IT merger or more integrated/shared resources
